Westboro is one of the hardest parts of Ottawa to move in, and the reasons are structural. Narrow residential streets with parking on both sides, infill semis on lots barely wider than the house, century homes with staircases that turn twice, and new condo towers along Richmond Road with a single service elevator.
None of it is a problem if it is planned. All of it costs hours if it is not. We survey access before quoting a Westboro job — where the truck will actually sit, how far the carry runs, and whether the elevator needs booking.
The crews we send here carry hoisting straps, door-removal tools and split box-spring options as standard, because a century-home stairwell defeats a lot of modern furniture.
Streets off Churchill and Athlone will not take a 26-foot truck with cars parked both sides. We identify the placement and, where it helps, arrange a City of Ottawa temporary no-parking permit so the carry stays short.
Two-turn staircases and narrow landings are standard in McKellar Park and Champlain Park. Hoisting straps, door removal and split box springs come on the truck by default, not as a special request.
The newer towers along Richmond and Scott have one service elevator and strict dock windows. We book yours with the property manager and supply the certificate of insurance ahead of the date.
Westboro's infill builds put the door metres from the property line with almost no staging space. Our crews stage from the truck rather than the lawn, which keeps the driveway clear and the neighbours calm.
Postal codes served: K1Y, K1Z, K2A and surrounding areas.

Learn moreOur moving process
Every move we run follows the same sequence. You always know what happens next and what it costs.
About 5 minutes
Give us the date, both addresses and roughly how much there is. A move consultant picks up seven days a week — no forms, no callback queue.
Same conversation
We confirm access, stairs, elevators and parking, size the crew, then quote you. Larger homes get a free video or in-home survey and a guaranteed flat price.
Move day, 7am–8pm
Your crew arrives inside a two-hour window, walks the home with you, lays floor runners, and blanket-wraps every piece before it leaves the room.
Same day
Furniture goes where you want it, beds go back together, and boxes land in the right rooms. You sign off only once you have walked the truck and it is empty.

Three floors, no elevator, no drama
We were on the third floor of a walk-up on Churchill with a piano landing that has defeated two previous movers. The crew looked at it, took the railing off, and had the whole apartment loaded in four hours. Final invoice came in under the estimate.
Kanata to Barrhaven in one day
Four bedrooms out of Bridlewood and into Half Moon Bay, done between 8am and 5pm. They wrapped every piece of furniture before it left the house, which I'd never seen a mover actually bother to do. Nothing was scratched.
Packed our condo in a single afternoon
I booked packers two days before the move because I'd badly misjudged how long a kitchen takes. Two packers arrived with all the materials and were done by 4pm. Every box was labelled by room. Genuinely the best money I spent on the whole move.

(613) 704-7378It depends entirely on the street. Many roads off Churchill and Athlone cannot take a 26-foot truck with cars parked both sides, so we either use a smaller truck, stage from the nearest legal placement, or arrange a City of Ottawa temporary no-parking permit. We settle this before quoting.
Usually. Two-turn staircases in McKellar Park and Champlain Park defeat a lot of sectionals, so our crews carry hoisting straps and door-removal tools as standard. On the estimate call we will tell you honestly if a specific piece will not make the turn.
Yes. We book the service elevator and loading dock with your property manager and supply the certificate of insurance almost every Westboro building requires, so the crew is not waiting in the lobby on your clock.
